More often than not, couples meet with me once they’ve already booked the venue, photographer, videographer, DJ, hair and makeup artists, day-of coordinator, cake baker, and florist…and I’m not the least bit bothered.
Why? Because the focus for planning a wedding is on the celebration. I totally get that.
I always ask who’s already been hired because it’s helpful to know who I’ll be working with…many of them are professionals whom I’ve coordinated with on numerous other weddings. My couples seem glad to learn that I know and have worked together with their other vendors.
I don’t know whether this practice is a trend among American couples planning their weddings or it’s unique to my experience. Regardless, I’m grateful to be hired to do a job that I love so very much, and I really don’t mind that they save the best for last. 😉
